The brokerage claimed that Dikian and another investor, Qiang Du, conspired to trick VPN.com into sending bitcoin for a domain purchase. The alleged scam involved Dikian insisting on using an escrow service called Intermediar to complete the transaction, with VPN.com sending a $250,000 bitcoin payment. However, it later turned out that the deal was a scam, and VPN.com dropped the lawsuit against Du while continuing to pursue Dikian, who denied any involvement and suggested that his email account was hacked.
